Ria is a highly accomplished teacher, examiner and high ability student specialist, with an outstanding track record of results at GCSE, IB & A-Level. Before being appointed as Head of English in the private sector, Ria taught across multiple selective schools in Kent in a variety of leadership positions, creating engaging curriculums that challenged and inspired her students. 

During this time, Ria founded her first tuition business, which successfully expanded into offering maths, science, English and entrance exam tuition to students in both primary and secondary school. Since being appointed as Head of English in the independent sector, Ria has focused on nurtering her private client base in Canterbury, Kent, where she is now based. 

As an experienced online tutor, Ria is committed to providing the highest level of education for her students across the country and beyond. Over the years, Ria has guided learners of all abilities from small village primaries, to the top private schools. Prior to teaching, Ria was the Dickens Scholarship holder for the duration of her MA as a precursor to working in the university sector. She therefore specialises in teaching 19th century literature and particularly enjoys delivering lessons on the Victorian novelists.

Ted is the former Head of English of one of England’s oldest prep schools, but has spent most of his career in the hustle and bustle of secondary education.

An accomplished educator with over 20 years of teaching experience in diverse educational settings, Ted has a deep understanding of the changing academic landscape and what it takes for students to excel.

Ted is our resident home education tutor; his extensive background in English curriculum design coupled with his warm and encouraging manner, make him a popular choice for home educating families who require an experienced, safe pair of hands, as well as insightful guidance behind courses, exams and textual choices. Jacinta has taught and tutored English for over thirty years in a variety of school settings, and supported students from a range of abilities and backgrounds. As a graduate of Durham University, Jacinta is passionate about all manner of subjects under the humanities: particularly literature, history and linguistics.

As a former Head of English at a comprehensive school for 20 years, Jacinta is passionate about supporting students with a wealth of educational needs, including dyslexia, anxiety and a variety of SEN. Over the years, Jacinta has become a specialist in helping underachieving boys reach their potential in English Language and English Literature, and is particularly popular with parents for this reason. As well as academic, Jacinta has strong pastoral experience having been a Head of Sixth Form in an online school, and enjoys supporting students with apprenticeships, university applications and beyond. 

As a senior examiner for 22 years, Jacinta's expertise is unparalleled; she is a specialist in educational diagnostics, and students warm to her calm, supportive manner. Jacinta takes pride in adapting to each individual child's needs, creating engaging and supportive lessons to help them achieve their very best. Having joined the team in 2024, Jon has proven an extremely likeable, passionate and experienced teacher specialising in English Language, English Literature, and Drama for students at KS3, GCSE, and A-Level. With a First-Class BA in Drama and English & American Literature, Jon brings academic expertise to ensure lessons are not only informative but also enjoyable and inspiring.
